Dallas Dance Studio Reviews

I signed my granddaughter, Madison, for the fall Hip-Hop class on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30. Elisa was very helpful on Tuesday to insure all was filled out correctly. I showed up on Wednesday for a walk-in lesson and Kali was in Sudio 5 and took Madison to the proper location and personally made sure her first lesson was great.
Kali was great with her since she was the youngest one in the class. Kali picked her up and delivered her to me when the class was over. This made such a positive impression for Madison; she loves Kali.
I told her that Kali was a Maverick dancer and she knew about them since my wife and have had season tickets since the AAC opened. I am sure you probably already know that Kali is great with kids, but I just wanted to let you know of our first experience.
We have four granddaughters and hopefully they may all be there at some point in time. We look forward to many lessons and lots of fun for Madison.
I hope she gets Kali again.

I have been meaning to write you for a while and it is so sad that my free time is at 1:00a.m. Anyways, I just wanted to let you kow that Paisley has completey enjoyed ballet this year. She tells me often it is her favorite class. Knowing that ballet is the foundation for all dance, I couldn't be more pleased that she enjoys it. Thank you so much for whatever you do in the studio that has gotten her attention. You have definantely made her fall in love with the art and she ADORES you! I can't tell you what a blessing it has been to be apart of such an amazing company. Thank you for all of the passion, hard work and dedication you put into the team to make it so successful and fun. My daughter Hannah used to take lessons at a different studio but dropped out because she didn't feel a connection with her teachers. She started taking dance classes last summer at Power House because of a friend, and her experiences at your studio have exceeded all expectations! She constantly talks about how wonderful her teachers are, and she never wants to miss a class. :) We're looking forward to some summer classes, and she is already thinking about what classes she wants to take in the fall.

Hey Shella -

I just wanted to write you and tell you what amazing time we had in Orlando! It was a great environment for the girls to get closer (and the parents too...I met and enjoyed being with so many new people). I think it was a great way to bring everyone closer than we were before.

The older and younger girls blended together beautifully. They were all routing for each other and hugging/kissing/tickling/holding hands constantly.

I saw some unbelievable dances and dancers while I was there, but it just reinforced what a great place you have created for our girls in Dallas. Michelle, Katelyn and Michelle have done a fantastic job with your "girls" this year. I am so proud to have my daughter be a part of this studio.

Michelle Stafford is so talented! Thank you for finding her and creating this great program and environment for these ladies to grow as dancers and young women.

We are now off on our family vacation. See you in a few weeks.

My name is LaQuet Sharnell Thompson and I attended the Dallas Power House from 1999-2002. I was a member of the Power Dancers and a member of the Senior Company. It brings me so much joy to let you all know that since my big move to New York I am currently doing a National Broadway Tour called Sweet Charity starring Paige Davis. The tour will be in Dallas at the Music Hall from July 23- August 3, 2007.

If it had not been for Shella and her studio I don't know if I would be were I am now. This studio was a major influence in me becoming a dancer who could do more than just cheer dance. I came to the studio not knowing a pile from a grande jete. It would bring me so much joy to share with you all how far I have come and the days of dancing all afternoon at Powerhouse.

Hello all,

Rebekah and I wanted to send all of you a short e-mail to thank you for your studio's participation at our Starlight Dallas Regional last weekend. We were both in agreement that Dallas was on of the best regionals we have ever experienced, thanks to all of your patience! It's so nice to work with such remarkable teachers, such as yourselves...you truly make our hard work worth while!

We also wanted to pass along a comment from our backstage staff about the amazing showmanship of your students. It's so nice to see dancers supporting other dancers, telling them good job and clapping for everyone at the awards ceremonies. It's very rare to find this and we must commend you as their teacher for educating them to respect their fellow dancers.

For over 20 years, Starlight has been holding dance competitions all over the United States. Our philosophy over these years has been to acknowledge and reward the hard work, dedication and perseverance of each dancer and teacher that attend our competitions. We will continue to strive to meet the competitive needs of all studios in the U.S. and if you have any comments to share with us, we would love to hear them! We would not be where we are today without feedback from incredible teachers!

I would just like to take this opportunity to tell you how happy my daughter is at your studio. Dancing at Power House and being a member of the senior hip hop company is a dream come true for her.

From the moment we entered the studio, I was impressed with everything I saw and with everyone I met. Susan greeted us at the door with a big smile and helped us decide which level she should be in. I love the way that you and your staff take the time to talk to the parents and children and make each one feel welcomed. I am impressed with the cleanliness of the studio and how all the staff members pitch in to keep it that way. I love the diversity of the staff and the students. Gino is an amazing teacher and Ashley looks forward to his class every week. Delmar is a fabulous teacher and she is so happy to be on her company and to be able to learn from her. My daughter adores Katelyn and she will be able to help her reach the next level in tap. Now she wants to add ballet and lyrical classes to her schedule.

I cannot say enough things about you and your studio. Coming to Power House has been the best thing that could have ever happened to my daughter. When she got her contract for Senior Hip Hop Company she was crying with joy. She is so happy at Power House and she is looking forward to dancing there for many years to come.

This week marks the third anniversary since we moved our daughter to Dallas Power House of Dance. We wanted to send you a warm thank you for the fabulous training she has received since coming to your studio. She has always had that spark of showmanship on stage, but needed training in technique. Her skill level has grown tremendously since coming to Dallas Power House of Dance. Shella, I want to thank you for being willing to hire an outstanding and experienced staff who really work well with teenage girls (not an easy task!!). I also want to thank you for making each girl feel loved, talented and welcome at your studio. Michelle Stafford, you are the person who works most closely with my daughter. She has benefited greatly from your leadership as company director and your choreography and teaching skills. She enjoys company and private lessons with you so much. She has loved getting to know you and your family. Michelle Sherrill and Trish C., you have given her the ballet technique that she needed so much. Once again, the show was outstanding. I really want to thank you and your staff for being such a positive influence on my daughter. She is constantly dancing at home and always refers to Saturday as "Dance Day." She absolutely adored "Ms. Jennifer" and "Ms. Mallory" last year. Emily and Amber were just as adored by her this year. Already knowing the answer, I asked her if she wanted to do dance again next year and she started talking about what she thought she would be in next years recital.

This past competition brought tears to my eyes, as I watch solos, trios and group dances! Not the kind of tears that moms have when they see their daughters dance, but the tears that I get from thinking, "Yeah, my dance teacher taught us this dance. Isn't she amazing!" I am so excited to tell you that the Fillies WON at Nationals this year. Not only did they win 1st in all three dance divisions, they won National Grand Champion for the Super size teams (50+ members), and we've already been sized for our National Champion jackets!
